Poverty

Poverty is all over the world. Microfinance helps to grow and help get people out of poverty. There is a need for organizations like Opportunity International, because people need get out of poverty and they need help getting their business to grow. Opportunity International is really effective in helping to grow a free market economy. In the video they use the example, “give a man a fish feed him for a day, teach a man to fish, feed him for a life time, teach a person to open a fish farm, feed the community.” Poor people can’t get loans from the banks and other sources because they have no credit. If they are in poverty, the banks who offer loans would deny them.  The role I could offer in helping less developed countries grow and prosper is joining an organization. Yes I would donate money and go to countries that have poverty and help as much as I could into getting business started and helping people get out of poverty. I would look up Opportunity International on the internet and find out more information, and also look up more information for joining different organizations. In a communist country the government makes almost all decisions, which means human rights suffers. The United States is a mixed economy. Two policies factor how the US controls the country. Fiscal policy means the federal government increases and decreases taxes and government spending, to keep the economy stable. Monetary policy manages money for supply and interest.
