While reading Gabby Sartel’s power point about Anthony’s restaurant, she talked about how her roommate and longtime friend has a family owned restaurant, and one day she would want to take over her family business. I believe that if I had a successful family business, that I would just want to work at my family business. I would definitely not be going to college, and I would be working on becoming a manager and knowing how to run my business, to one day takes it over. I believe that going to a college and getting a college education such as this one would be a waste of both time and money.

I have also read Gabby Sartel's power point about Anthony's restaurant, and I believe that she is doing the right thing by going to college to learn more about business and how business works. I personally have a family business that I could just go right into, but I decided to go to college to learn more about running a business and how to communicate properly with customers. I think that college is very important to learn how to run a business even if you have your own family business because you will learn more than your family my know about running a business. Going to college will really help the chances of your own business succeeding. I agree that college costs a lot of money, but in the end the money will probably be worth spending.

After reading Gabby Sartell’s PowerPoint, I was intrigued by Anthony’s Restaurant. Anthony Spafadora was the owner of the business, until he passed away. The restaurant has been handed down to his son Anthony Spafadora Jr. Anthony’s Restaurant has been open for 37 years. This family oriented business has had much success because of staff. Even though they have had problems with some staff, if the staff wasn’t friendly, the customers wouldn’t go back. Gabby listed one challenge and it’s break ins. Having a family owned business in such a difficult situation is awful. The most challenging problem the restaurant has is keeping all the customers happy. This is difficult because everyone is different and likes things certain ways. The Spafadora’s restaurant isn’t the only family business. They family name also has a flower shop, a funeral home, and a smoke shop. On the page, “Questions,” Gabby interviewed Anthonys goddaughter. She hopes to one day be able to run the business. She also responds in another questions with hopes to expand the restaurant. Advice they gave said “you are never too young or old to run a family business.” I find this interesting and gives me courage to open or continue my family business when I get out of college.
