After reading about Pawlissa Pet Grooming Spa, I was very impressed on how this small business got started. I found it very interesting how the name came into place. By connecting both of their names, I thought that was very unique, and showed how this business is a partnership. I also thought it was very interesting how this business doesn't just cut the dogs hair, they actually groom them and treat their dogs with care and love. That is whats going to separate them from other small businesses. Pawlissa Pet Grooming Spa sounds like a very successful business, and they have no need to worry about larger business because if you put everything into something you love you will succeed. This business seems very loving and I hope their business continues to grow. I learned that running a business is a lot of work, and sometimes in order to find out what you want you have to start off slow and from the bottom. For Paula she started off by working for another company, then realized that she wanted her own business, I hope that I find what I love to do like Paula did. I learned that will hard work and trust worthy staff members your business can sky rocket with time. This presentation talks about challenges and like our text says each business is going to have challenges. With dedication and time you can work around those challenges. For Pawlissa Pet Grooming Spa I hope the business continues to be extremely successful.

Justine, I really enjoyed your presentation on Pawlissa Pet Grooming Spa. Two specifics that jumped out at me the most about the business are the company's name and the special touches they give to their customers, the dogs. I think by combing both owners' names it gives the company a nice welcoming name, while it is also advertising their service to dogs. I also liked how Pawlissa Pet Grooming Spa does not only cut the dog's hair, but also pampers the dog, which can make the dog's owner want to keep on coming back. I enjoyed their special touch of adding bandanas to the dog's collar. I think it is a simple, but personal touch they added to their service. I am also very impressed that the company has been extremely successful under a partnership. In class, we have learned that partnerships are an easier way to start a business, but also difficult due to having two people’s opinions. “Disagreements over money are just one example of potential conflict in a partnership. Who has final authority over employees? Who hires and fires employees? Who works what hours? What if one partner wants to buy expensive equipment for the firm and the other disagrees?” (119) Therefore, I admire Paula and Melissa for being as successful as they are with a partnership. If they keep doing what they love and continue to work extremely well together then I do not think they need to worry about competing larger businesses because some people like the special connection they have with smaller businesses. Personally, I like knowing that my dog has special treatment and it being cared with love at a small business with only 4 employees rather than a larger business who could might be just there for the profit, therefore, might not take as much time on the animals like Pawlissa Pet Grooming Spa does. I learned from this small business that as long as you follow your passions in life you have the ability and capability to be successful.
